Elim Nigeria > Life Skills Program

Elim is an NGO based in a rural area of Nigeria’s south-east, Igede. Elim has carried out innovative programs, primarily focussing on handicapped people for a long time. Through the years they have come up with ways to provide education and special care for handicapped children. They also provide education programs for the local village schools. Elim is currently implementing a community based education system for deaf and blind children which seems to turn out great.

Jars of Clay Foundation and Elim are working together on sexual education, lifeskills and HIV/Aids education in local village schools. For children aged 10 to 13 years old, Elim has developed an education program that is carried out by the children’s own teachers. The teachers receive a training and are monitored by Elim to make sure the program’s full potention is being taken advantage of.
